The Texans fought back to force overtime Sunday, but the Giants took the first possession of the extra period and won it. Devin Singletary ran 30 yards for the winning touchdown with 7:25 left in overtime, and New York beat Houston 27-21 in front of 71,052 fans.
The day was still a big one for Tank Dell. Playing in his first game in 22 months, he caught the only pass thrown his way for 43 yards and set up a Houston touchdown. The loss drops the Texans to 2-5 and 0-4 at home heading into their Week 8 bye. The Giants improve to 4-2-1.
Tank Dell Is Back
Dell last played on Dec. 21, 2024, when he suffered a severe knee injury against Kansas City, including a torn ACL and a dislocated kneecap. He missed all of 2025 and returned Sunday wearing No. 1. Our look at his road back covers the full recovery.
His big moment came late in the second quarter. With 2:00 left in the half, C.J. Stroud threw deep down the middle and Dell hauled it in for 43 yards to the Giants’ 30. The ball looked to deflect off Jaylin Noel’s hands before Dell grabbed it, per NBC Sports. He also ran an end-around for 2 yards and returned a punt 14 yards, playing 14 snaps.

How It Happened
Ka’imi Fairbairn opened the scoring with a 58-yard field goal and added a 57-yarder in the second quarter. The Giants scored on a 2-yard run by Tyrone Tracy Jr. and a 1-yard sneak by Jameis Winston to lead 14-6.
Dell’s catch put Houston in Giants territory, and on the same drive Stroud hit Marvin Harrison Jr. for a 6-yard touchdown with 34 seconds left in the half. That was Harrison’s first touchdown as a Texan. Stroud then found Cade Stover for the two-point conversion to tie it 14-14 at halftime.
Neither team scored in the third quarter. Cam Skattebo put New York back on top with a 16-yard touchdown run with 8:55 left. Houston answered with 52 seconds left in regulation when Stroud found Xavier Hutchinson for a 3-yard touchdown, and Fairbairn’s extra point tied it 21-21.
In overtime, the Giants went 81 yards in three plays. Skattebo broke a 42-yard run, and Singletary finished it from 30 yards out. Houston never got the ball back.
Houston Standouts
Stroud completed 17 of 28 passes for 153 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions. Dalton Schultz led the team with five catches for 45 yards, and Woody Marks ran 19 times for 66 yards. Fairbairn made both field goals, including the 58-yarder.
On defense, M.J. Stewart had 12 tackles, Henry To’oTo’o added 10 and Kamari Lassiter had a sack. The Giants still outgained Houston 420 to 237, and Skattebo ran for 124 yards.
